Software Engineer: Control

We are seeking a skilled Control Software Engineer to join our autonomous vehicle development
team. In this role, you will design, develop, and implement control algorithms for our self-driving
cars, ensuring safe and efficient vehicle operation.

Locations:
- San Jose, California, US (Salary Range: $75k—$300k USD)
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement control algorithms for vehicle dynamics, including steering, acceleration, and braking systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate control software with perception, planning, and hardware systems.
- Conduct simulations and real-world testing to validate and refine control strategies.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to control systems in autonomous vehicles.
- Maintain documentation for control software designs and updates.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as C++ and Python.
- Strong understanding of control theory and vehicle dynamics.
- Experience with simulation tools like MATLAB/Simulink.
- Familiarity with real-time heterogeneous systems.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Preferences:
- Experience with Model Predictive Control (MPC) or Adaptive Control algorithms.
- Familiarity with automotive communication protocols like CAN, LIN, or FlexRay.
- Hands-on experience with hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) or software-in-the-loop (SIL) testing environments.
- Experience in developing software compliant with ISO 26262 or other automotive safety standards.
- Strong background in numerical optimization techniques.
