The weather team works cross-functionally to develop technologies that ensure safe autonomous driving in all weather conditions. We're seeking skilled data scientists to help us overcome the challenges of adverse weather.

Responsibilities:

• Develop perception features to recognize road weather conditions, quantify weather impact on sensing, and identify sensing degradation.
• Collaborate across teams to adapt sensor fusion techniques, integrate sensor cleaning system, and implement mitigation strategy to enhance autonomous driving reliability under reduced visibility.
• Develop data mining, labeling, training and evaluation pipelines for model adaption in adverse weather conditions.
• Conduct tests and simulations in various weather conditions to evaluate system performance and mitigation strategy.

Qualifications:

• Master’s or PhD in machine learning, computer science, robotics, or a related field.
• Experience with computer vision and deep learning.
• Understanding of various effects of weather on sensor data.
• Excellent communication, strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with autonomous vehicle technology or robotics.
• Experience with machine learning and AI foundation models.
• Experience with Python/C++.
