Locations:

  • San Jose, California, US (Salary Range: $75k—$300k USD)
Responsibilities:
  • Analyze and apply regulations for passive safety products (seat belts, airbags, steering wheels, ABM) and restraint system calibration, providing guidance on design and supplier requirements.
  • Design and oversee the development and execution of testing protocols and experimental matrices for passive safety systems.
  • Manage the validation and optimization of restraint system components to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and achievement of performance targets.
  • Design and plan passive safety products, including conducting reviews, obtaining approvals, and performing risk assessments.
  • Analyze and review the impact of passive safety systems on the vehicle 3D model (CAS, A-side, and product layout) to ensure compliance with regulations and internal requirements.
  • Define quality objectives for safety and restraint system components, develop key characteristics and control requirements.
  • Conduct research on EV passive safety product trends, track developments in materials, processes, and other related technologies.
Qualifications:
  • Over 5 years of work experience with expertise in automotive safety technical regulations, certification processes, and California-specific technical regulations.
  • Experience in the development of more than two vehicle models.
  • Thorough knowledge of laws and regulations regarding passive safety products and restraint systems, including development processes and supplier management.
  • Strong communication and coordination skills.
  • Prior work experience with a major automaker.
