Locations:

Responsibilities:

• Conduct research on safety goal, standards, and Safety Performance Metrics (SPI) for Level-4 autonomous driving;
• Identify, collect and analyze statistical data of human driving performance metrics;
• Develop methods for evaluating the safety of autonomous driving;
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop safety system frameworks.

Qualifications:

• Master's degree or higher in transportation engineering, statistics, biomedical engineering and mechanics, mechanical engineering, vehicle engineering, physics, etc.;
• Proven experience in analyzing safety with statistics, probability theory or data science;
• Proficient in quantitative analysis and modeling tools, and experience with Python/R/SQL;
• Experience with safety standards including ISO26262, ISO 21448, and UL 4600;
• Strong technical communication skills and teamwork spirit.

Preferences:

• PhD's degree with 5+ years of automotive, transportation, robotics, aerospace or related industry experience;
• Published multiple papers in the field of quantitative risk assessment in safety engineering;
• Experience in the autonomous driving industry.
