Responsibilities:
- Conduct research on safety goal, standards, and Safety Performance Metrics (SPI) for Level-4 autonomous driving;
- Identify, collect and analyze statistical data of human driving performance metrics;
- Develop methods for evaluating the safety of autonomous driving;
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop safety system frameworks.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree or higher in transportation engineering, statistics, biomedical engineering and mechanics, mechanical engineering, vehicle engineering, physics, etc.;
- Proven experience in analyzing safety with statistics, probability theory or data science;
- Proficient in quantitative analysis and modeling tools, and experience with Python/R/SQL;
- Experience with safety standards including ISO26262, ISO 21448, and UL 4600;
- Strong technical communication skills and teamwork spirit.
Preferences:
- PhD's degree with 5+ years of automotive, transportation, robotics, aerospace or related industry experience;
- Published multiple papers in the field of quantitative risk assessment in safety engineering;
- Experience in the autonomous driving industry.
